There's two schools of thought with respect to staying in Bogota. One school of thought is to stay near the Santa Fe area of Bogota, which where a lot of P4P action and streetwalkers are located, and the second school of thought is to stay out near the zona rosa and to cab around. I chose the second option, which I'll explain later. First, let me say that the hotel is simple and comfortable, within easy walking distance of the Zona Rosa and also conveniently close to a large supermarket for supplies. I paid about $80/night when I stayed there. No issue bringing girls in because the expectation in that part of town is that the girl you are bringing back is NOT a hooker. It's much like hotels here. They will also arrange a transfer form the airport if you like. The Zona Rosa is where the young, hip and well off in Bogota go to play. It's not a hooker district but you can pick up there. Beware, because the girls there are a bit snooty and absolutely will not accept direct approaches of sex for money. You will get yourself in trouble for this, but curious ones will enjoy your company and are obtainable, free. These girls are probably the least automatic that I've met in latin america though. It can be a true pickup, but the girls are absolutely stunning.
While this isn't tied to the hotel review I mentioned two schools of thought before. If you want to choose option 1 and stay near the Santa Fe district you should be an experienced monger and street wise. The Santa Fe area is not for beginners, and at least some spanish would be recommended. After dark this is a dangerous place, so be aware. Best advice at night, if you're planning to go to the Piscina or other club in Santa Fe my strong advice to you is to take a cab to the door and then a cab from the door at night. If the doormen there are responsible they may insist that you take one. Also, never leave your drink alone and have them prepare it in front of you or if it's a beer open it in front of you to protect you from scopolamine thieves who will drug you and steal everything you have, whch is a relatively common problem in Colombia.
Sorry, a lot of this has nothing to do with the hotel, but it's so important in Bogota that I thought I should mention it.
