  • Great place to stay and the grounds and landscaping are excellent.  If you want to go to a really nice resort with a nice quite atmospere and NOT be too far away from the action then this is the place for you.  Also the rates are excellent there and not to mention the discounts we get.

for more info go to the sponsors section and you will see a lot more info there.

  • This is a very nice and quiet place away from all the noise in the central district near Classicos.  Good food, large pool and beautiful grounds.  They have a security officer that is at the gate at night so it is very safe.  I stayed there for 3 days the first week of December 2011.  It's very close to Passions and CMP and across the street from Cuba Libre where many local chicas hang out.  I made reservations for a standard plus room for $60 USD and they had a special going on and I got it for $40 USD.  Here is a link to Cuba Libre, You are not allowed to view links. • This HoHotel will be the Official "Cover Hotel" for the I.F.T.C. Army. When your on the plane going to the Dominican Republic you have to fill out an immigration form and they want to know where your staying in the D.R.

You simply put Hotel El Colibri Sosua and you have no official form with Black Beard's listed on it.

You can even book a room here on one night of your stay and take a bunch of pictures to show the family back home what a cool place you stayed at.

The hotel reviews has family, divers, wind sailing, travelers reviews written about it so nobody could really nail you for staying at a brothel.

With the year round discounts booking a room at Hotel El Colibri Sosua wont hurt you budget and you should spend at least one night in Sosua for the full mongering experience if you go to the North Coast
We all just got back and you basters are booking your next trip...LOL

  • I was thinking of staying here part of my next trip but it seems so far away from where all the action is.  Much of a problem being that far?

  • I'm still on the fence.. Seems if you stay at El Colibri you are pretty much pulling from Cuba Libre, Passions, CMP  and a little more out of the way from the heart of the action. Might not be a bad thing. I like the fact that they have security and don't allow just anyone on the grounds. Keyed safe also.  Rooms and pool look pretty good too. Gonna have to see what the wingmen say.

  • I just got back from a 9 day travel in Sosua and I stayed at El Colibri from Oct 7th-10th and Oct 14th-16th, 2012. This place was awesome. For some reason they really sucked at first when it came to making the reservation. It took a long time to get the confirmation and we kept going back and forth about me giving them my credit card information. All and all, I am really happy I stayed here. When I touched down at the hotel, everyone at the receptionist desk was really excited to see me. Sulieka is the person you want to talk to, she is beautiful and she takes cares of you.

The monger community here is comparative to Black Beard's mongering community. The people who come to El Colibri are not over the top party people, but they clearly love the art of mongering. They gave me a beautiful two bedroom apartment. The food was good and the security guards really had your best interest at heart. Look to my field report to hear about my time at El Colibri, Sosua, and Blackbeards. (9 Days of Poking Chicas and Escaping the Mafioso).

From the 14th-16th of October, I actually did not book a hotel, I wanted to play it by ear. I called Sulieka up after 4 days at Blackbeards and she hooked me up with a two day stay for $65 a day and that included breakfast.
