Thanks, but already booked with sea breeze .
used to hear a lot about the sea breeze, haven't heard a peep about them lately for the past few years. so much so, that i actually walked down that way to see if they were still there last year when i was in the su
let us know your thoughts about the hotel after your visit.
i stuck my head in there probably 5 or 6 years ago when they first took over the place. at that time things were kind of sparse. the bar wasnt open yet, pool wasnt cleaned and open and the rooms didnt all have safes and it was just basic accomdations.
-
I have stayed at sea breeze a few times. The pool is on the small side, but it is clean, and nice. The rooms are ok also clean. I like it better than new garden, and it is 40.00/ night.
-
Why not give us a try at Mary Rose or Sosua Suites. You get a full one bedroom apartment complete with kitchen for less than New Garden, Vic House or Sea Breeze. Also, we have award winning customer service.
Just a thought.
Take care,
Rick

How is the party/street noise at those properties, Rick, compared to VH and CC? That is a plus for those of us who need a little quiet to sleep.
VH and CC are great in that they are not located on top of the PC wildness.
-
Sosua Suites can be noisy being right downtown however, it is Sosua Suites location that is the selling point. Mary Rose on the other hand is extremely quiet. We had problems in the past with roosters but they have been removed and will not be coming back.
Take care,
Rick

I stayed here for the first time in late October .
The place is beautiful . The grounds are in need of a good cleaning, painting .
The rooms could also use a facelift, but for Sosua it is first class .
The pool was nice and clean . The place was empty. There was one other guy staying there besides me and my wingman .
I had my girl from Puerto Plata stay with me for a few days . We had the pool all to ourselves .
I will stay at Victorian House on my next trip for 65.00/night it was well worth it . Beautiful view ....
-
I love the Victorian House - the room i had was the one with a jacuzzi and its was great!!
-
I have yet to go to Sosua and I was looking into hotels for a future trip. Is there any new info. on the
quality and service of this hotel from someone who's been there recently?
-
I was there in June. I only stay at VH. Its quiet, yet a short 7 minute walk to Classico's/Rumbas. Even closer to Playa Sosua. The new management is working hard to upgrade, such as a separate Wi-Fi router in every sleeping room (shit, Marriott can't come close to that!) ... a restaurant ... laundry service $10 for whatever you can stuff in a plastic bag, etc.
ALSO, the old Sosua Bay Hotel next door (the brown stucco) is now Hotel Bellamar. They are slowing rehabbing those rooms as a new offering. Flat screen TVs, etc. Check out both.
Highly recommended.
-
Very nice hotel...stayed there back in May. Here's the view that I had.
ItsJay
-
Have you ever used the Jacuzzi at the VH. If so, how was it? Was it clean and in good working order?
-
I never used it.
Has anyone watched "Hotel Impossible" on the Travel Channel?? It's hysterical. The host has this handheld meter that tests for germs, bacteria, etc. His favorite place to test? Jacuzzi nozzles. The meter always zeros out the score is so high. SO ... I'm very suspicious of non-chain hotel Jacuzzis. Be careful!
-
It was my first time in Sosua. I stayed at the Victorian House for 3 nights.
Some areas around the place can use some repairs. The view is what sells it
. It's also very quiet and a short walk from the strip. If you choose to
stay there, bring some of your own towels. They don't always provide them
on time. If you have pre-booked, make sure you follow up because that can
get screwed up as well. Overall I like the place and I will stay there again
when I return to Sosua. I thought the food there was good.
-
I am assuming the intel at this hotel is still good...
How do we get our member's discount. I am ready to book however it is asking for CC info so before I pull the trigger I want to make sure I have my ducks in a row.
Thanks in advance for the help fellas!
-
Try Gregg. He use to throw a lot of parties there.
vpchill@gmail.com or 829 923 7437
-
Gents the Intel in in this thread is borderline no good except for the contact info.
Long story short
No IFTC discount.
No pool parties
Owner also runs a bar/disco outside Sousa.
Hope this helps someone down the line.
-
EVERY hotel in Sosua needs work. EVERY hotel in Sosua has shortcomings. And they always will, until a Four Seasons or Mandarin opens up. The info on here is credible. VH is better than most
-
Yea Gregg had some legal issues in Sosua because of the pool parties. Plan on visiting the club he helps manage in Puerto plata though. Not surprised he stepped away from Victorian house. And FYI, Big D is leaving the restaurant there and taking over rumbas bar and grill.
-
Big John what I am saying is the Intel is hold in this thread. I went in thinking one thing turns it was different. No disrespect to the board just saying old Intel.
That's a shame I would have like to have been at the pool party.
I still plan on going especially if they are chica freiendly. Right now they seem to be my best option at the moment.
-
Glad to hear that Big D (top notch chef) is taking over at Rumbas!
-
Hi, does anyone know if Greg is still affiliated with the Victorian House Hotel?

Hi, does anyone know if Greg is still affiliated with the Victorian House Hotel?
Not sure. Here's his info. Give him a call.
vpchill@gmail.com or 829 923 7437
-
I just received an email from Gregg. He states that he is no longer working with the
Victorian House Hotel. He said there were to many issues.
-
Just and FYI. The Victorian House Hotel is now closed. The Bellamar Hotel remains opened.
-
HERE'S THE STORY ...
Management of the VH was not the owners ... they paid for a group to run the place. That contract expired 12/31/16. And only in the Dominican would a hotel not have a new group lined up to keep the place open. MEANWHILE the exiting management team was developing their own hotel. It's down the strip close to the old Passions. Google Ahnvee Resort and Sporits (also on Facebook). FAR more upscale and pricier.
-
Love the one with the pool in it! But $220/night....
-
VH was closed for about six months - reopened in May 2017.
New and very complicated Chica Policy:
1. Any chica brought in before 9 pm must be dressed nicely. No T&A's hanging out.
2. Any chica brought in after 9 pm can be dressed any way.
3. Any chica who leaves after 7 am requires a $20 fee.
4. Three different wrist bands: 1) paid guests, 2) non-"chica" guests", and 3) "chica guests."
It's obviously they are trying to appeal to non-mongers, couples, families, etc.
-
I just booked with Terra Linda. VH was nice for about 5 years and then went south
