  • This place is the standard by which many mongers judge the relative venues in San Jose. Located in a quiet section of Barrio Amon Sportsmen's is a place that keeps growing and evolving all the time. It started off as a quiet little hotel with what are now referred to as the courtyard rooms. Following that the hotel was expanded to include the modern wing, then the bar was expanded and the mansion wing was added.  Sportsmens is a great balance of things. It's a nice place to stay, it serves food and liquor on site, and it also has onsite chica talent.

Bill is probably the best hotel host anywhere. He is professional, friendly, has been around the block and so consequently knows how to run a business. The girls that enter the hotel all have to have cards to allow them entry. The bar staff is the best in town. The hotel throws big parties for Halloween and Super Bowl, and while it's always generally busy you must book way in advance for these events.

Price for rooms run from $70-170 per night, except for the Penthouse, which is two bedrooms and runs $275.00 Girls will be in and out all day, but the sweet spot is from happy hour to about 10pm. Girls can be had for $60-100 for as short or as long a time as you can negotiate. It used to be more of a GFE place but is kind of mid scale pro now. Food is decent but the prices are climbing a bit. Booze is reasonable and you can buy by the bottle which the bar staff will keep behind the bar for you.

Room recommendations. The nicest rooms are the Mansion wing rooms, but the best bang for your buck are the modern wing rooms on the second floor, except for the one right at the top of the stairs. Do not stay in the courtyard rooms, but the clubhouse rooms tucked in the corner can be ok. The courtyard rooms are right on the bar area and very noisy.

Discounts can be had, but are only available through another site which in deference to CEO I won't mention here. You can PM me for details if you like. This place may be the best all around monger hotel in Costa Rica. The staff all mostly speak decent English too. Check it out at sportsmenscr.com

  • For anyone interested Bill's 60th birthday party comes up in June.  I'm sure it will be a big bash and there's always tons of girls and usually a room party or two.  I won't be there but will be looking forward to the pics.
