  • Yes..... unfortunatly this is true. My phone tarted blowing up this morning when it happened. I am already booking a flight to go down and take over the operations of the hotel and assist with the bar. I will be happy to let you know more as it becomes available. Right now all we know is that he is being sent back to Canada in the morning (mon). Once he is there he will be calling me to let me know what is up and give me any instructions or info I need to immediatly jump into the hotel. After that I will be in as much contact with him as possible......

No, there is no official news or report. Those of us that are closest to him (me, his wife, his brother, etc) do not even have the full story. We believe we have a pretty good idea of what is going on, but are not at liberty to discuss until we know for sure. I CAN tell you this...... that "so called news" or whatever it is that is linked above is EXAGERATING GREATLY! I am hearing quite a few other whopper rumors also.... NONE TRUE.

Just hold on..... an update will come out from a reliable source (such as one of us closest to him)..... just wait for it. We do not want to speculate at all..... We know some things, but not enough to share.....

anybody that has ever been on a cruise and been to a port city knows the businesses they encounter up and down both sides of the street are not owned by the national's.

cruise passengers have expectations, high expectations, and the islanders dont typically deliver that and would not be able to survive the expectations.

the ship will have recommendations they make, port approved cab drivers, ones that will be on time, everything they touch (the cruise lines) is about service, honesty and expectations.  the locals cannot deliver on that, typically

look at all the businesses you deal with say in the su.  who owns them?  expats from one country or another .  how many domincian hotel owners do you know?  there arent many.   same with good sized restaurants. domincans can handle small fare, typically not a crowed though.

what do ships bring? big crowd very quickly that has been pampered, waited on and spoiled

  • Would these cruise ships dock anywhere near Sosua? I've never been on a cruise. How far away do they shuttle cruise ship passengers during land excursions?

  • His arrest has nothing to do with anything going on in the DR. It was as a result of an international warrant issued through Interpol.

    It's a shitty deal , from 2006,2007, in Canada
I also read on another site that Rick had applied for Dominican citizenship.  Perhaps this led to a background check and brought this out.

I really dont see him coming back anytime soon

There's no accurate way to measure a man; his heart, his past, his motivations.  According to the reports, he did some serious shit over a lot of money.  If the allegations by the Canadian govt are true, it doesn't mean he is "bad" per se.  History is filled with these types of people.  Hitler was a staunch animal lover and Al Capone was one of the most outgoing and personable guys in Chicago despite his crime syndicate.  Rick was just foolish in committing the crime(s) if true.  There are consequences for what we do in life and Rick isn't the exception, good man that he may be.  It appears the past has caught up to him.  The DR is a paradox.  Not everyone goes there to simply fuck chicas like we do.  Some go to escape the law, taxes, child support, vaginamony, a criminal past and god knows what else from their home country.  This is getting harder to do with globalization and modern tech.  He was certainly good to me when I visited his establishments. You're right about the likelihood of his return not being anytime soon. Based on the manner of his arrest and the charges it may be some time before his return.  By then Sosua and all that he has worked for will be completely different...and so will he.

  • I could not have said it better - he has always treated me and my members all very well.  I hope everything works well for him.  It said because he worked so damn hard to build his business and i hope its still there when he gets out but i am sure its unlikely.  I know his good friend and my good friend Jesse is down there trying to do damage control and help run things so hopefully it will all work out for him.
