Dynasty Inn Bangkok

  • Not to be confused with the Dynasty Grande, the Dynasty Inn is basically right next to Nana Plaza. The hotel rooms are very simple and unpreposessing, but serviceable. The hotel is divided into two buildings front and back. You cn access the back building either by walking through the front lobby or by walking through the alley to the receiving area alongside the building. Anyone who goes into thefron building registers at the front desk, but if you don't want to do the walk of the shame with th eback builing you can ether skip the formalities or go through the front lobby, as you wish. I prefer the back building because it's quieter, and for no other reason. Extremely convenient as you are literally steps away front Nana plaza and the freelancer gathering outside, as well as a collection of beer bars to the left. They serve a decent breakfast too. Price is pretty cheap too, at about $50 a night. Because the convenience factor is so high and the price is cheap this hotel is very much in demand, so book early if possible. best reaults come from booking directly with the hotel when looking for availability or room selection.

  • Any tailors in the area of the hotel?  Figure I might as well have some suits made in between sessions.   Lol.

  • There are more than a few world class tailors in BKK. July tailors on Silom Road. A little pricey but very good.  You can expect to spend 700 to 1000 or more and it takes a week to complete.   They have dressed more than a few kings and heads of state.  Rajawongse Clothiers is just around the corner from the landmark hotel down the street from nana plaza. still very good quality and about 30% cheaper.  Still a little cheaper, (and a little slower) is narin couture. almost right next to nana skytrain station.  All are great. Depends on your budget.
