Sosua Report

  • Hello all,

After mining this site for information (much appreciated everyone) its only fair that I try to pass on what I have learned from my first trip to Sosua (Aug 26th - Sept 2nd)

Day 1 - Flight cancelled (Isaac); result is a over night stay in the Dallas Airport.

Day 2 - Flight delayed out of Dallas to Miami, connection missed. Called a friend to e-mail Rick that I would be there the next day (he tried, and succeeded to lock out my e-mail account in the process). American Airlines sprung for a hotel room, spent the night drinking in South Beach with a few other stranded individuals; which not shockingly was the highest cost day of the trip.

Day 3 - Finally arrived to POP (which is more than I can say for my luggage). Made it to Sosua and went to Rocky's. Rick - the guy is great, made me feel welcomed, had a room set up despite not having contact with him. Absolutely will be my destination for my return voyage. Got there rather late due to the delay and missing baggage claim; but though I might as well do some exploring. Did the beach tour, and the main drag tour; ended up back at Rockies for dinner. Enter a chica! Sat down next to me while eating, pleasant to view and all; but looking back I made a rookie mistake - wifed up with the first chica I contacted. Perhaps I was in sensory overload; but this resulted me in slightly overpaying. We bar hopped the rest of the night and ended up back at Rockies.

Day 4 - Awoke w/mi esposa, had a morning session and she went on her way. Set a time to meet again later that afternoon. Went to the supermarket to stock up (bottled water, toothpaste...etc). Then went to the Pharmacy for some Vitamin "V". Roughly $25 for a pack of 5. Then to the cigar store next to Brittania for some cubans (when in Rome). Met back with mi esposa and went to dinner and the disco. Back to Rocky's at the end of the night for another session.

Day 5 - Had a lot of fun the last 2 days, but wanted to find a way to distance myself with mi esposa. I told her that I was going to take a trip to Puerta Plata and wasn't sure that I would be back to Sosua. Lame excuse? Sure, but desperate people do desperate things. Net cost for time with mi esposa (excluding dinner and drinks) - I don't even remember, I think roughly $300 USD. Did I over pay? I think so, but I'm guessing most rookies will end up doing such a thing. And that giant scream of excitement you heard? That was me when my luggage arrived. Within 15 minutes of its arrival I was snorkeling at the beach. Henceforth all days began with a swim in the Caribbean. Did the Rumbas and Classico scene at night, ended up hooking up with a beautiful 22 yr old, Short Session, $2,000 pesos.

Day 6 - Friday, Breakfast at Brittians, followed by another Carribean Swim. Back to Brittanias to watch Chelsea blow a Super Cup game against Athletico Madrid. Meh, meaningless game. Still, a loss is a loss; and thankfully a salvation was at hand in the name of Passions. Note - I took particular pride in passing by CMP en route, they had some folks giving out free drink coupons to get people to go inside - maybe the boycott is working? Passions, Wow - again; sensory overload, seriously you can not beat this place. Did a onsite session with a lady who actually spoke a decent amount of english. At night again I did the Rumba, Classicos circuit, ended up with a 21 yr old Rihanna if she were 5'2 lookalike. Cost - Short term, again $2,000 pesos.

Day 7 - Saturday, after the requisite swim I went to the beach to live the life of the beach bum. Went to the Norwegian bar. Was hit on by a Local cougar (permanent resident gringo), interesting experience enough.  Did the movie night at Rocky's, again this place will make you feel welcomed! Went to Rumbas around 9:00 that night, met up with a person I had met the previous day. He was with a Chica and her friend, I took one for the team. And when I say took one for the team I meant going to my room for a Short Term session with her friend and then heading to Classicos with the 25 yr old stunner. By far - this was the best Chica of the trip. After Classicos it was back to Rocky's for round 2. Total damage for the night (again, excluding drinks) $100 USD. Still in contact with the chica; however I'm guessing its only a matter of days until the Request for Money comes (sick child this, in jail that; I'm sure it will be something).

Day 8 - Shit, flying back. I felt too exhausted to do much of anything. Went for one last swim before I checked out. Didn't want to go, but had to go. Already looking forward to my return trip.

Summary: Yes, rookie mistakes were made; I imagine they always will be. This site is a gold mine for showing someone the ropes. Advice for someone who has the first trip there - don't fly American Airlines if you can help it (which most people probably can't). Also, don't rush! Probably the one thing I can't stress enough. Start negotiating by offering a dollar amount, don't ask how much; tell them how much. If you make a fair offer it most likely will not be rejected.

    Any questions please ask.

i will bet that nuisance nut u had all backed up for a few days just about blasted thru the end of your condom. lmao

as for the rookie mistakes, we have all made them.  no big deal unless u dont learn from them or it caused a dangerous situation.  that is where a wingman comes in handy, help keep u balanced.  your winging up with fellow mongers is what is always recommended for a lone wolf on the prowl.  just have to look around the hotel, they are always there as u found out

  • Sounds like you had a good first trip. You did not make any mistakes you just learned and made yourself a better monger for all the other trips to come...
Any pics of the girls you were with?

  • Chelsea, great post man! rookie mistakes....ha you looking at a bunch of people who been there done that...thats how we bro - its not a mistake its what you wanted to do, all you do is do it then, then come back and go, ok next time i'll do it this way the more the learn and the more you go back you will get more hip to the game, but looks like you had a damn good time...as long as you busted them nuts thats all that counts and your back home safe with memories and a story it is all good!

  • Hi. I enjoyed reading this report and  I agree with the other guys-we have all made rookie mistakes even after being in the game for a while. Here is a warning about  Sousa for everyone. Be very carefull if you decide to walk that road out to Passions, CMP, especially at night. I was strolling along and just as I was passing through kind of a dark area this old ugly bitch stepped out of an alleyway and did the old hug with one arm and crotch grab with the other. I had a little happy buzz on so I just laughed, pushed her away and kept walking. I didn`t even think much more about it until I got to Passions and ordered a beer-reached into my left pocket for cash and guess what? Fuck all! Zip! Now luckily I wasn`t a complete rookie because I only kept drink money in that pocket-the honey money and passport was in a concealed money belt. Please make sure you do that. I still find it incredible that she could get her hand in and out of that pocket in less than two seconds without me feeling a thing. They are really that good. Total loss-about $25.00 US. This is not uncommon in Sousa so BEWARE! Otherwise-have fun!

old trick used by some of the street urchins in the su

some tips when out at night in the su:

only carry as much money as u intend on spending
only carry as much as u care to lose
keep a hand on your pocket with the bucks when in a crowd
dont let a gal from the street get that close to u unless u know where ur bucks are and have a hand on them
get a wallet u can wear around your neck
dont keep all ur money in one place.  put your mad money  in your shoe

Thanks for the advice on the pick pockets in Sousa... Great ideas.. I heard you should lock your passport in your hotel safe as soon as you check in. All that is needed is a photo copy to carry around Sousa?

  • Dont forget you can also get a passport card-just like a credit card in size. I locked my passport in the safe and had this with me always.

Check out CEO report from OCT trip-was asked by POLICIA for ID, didnt have and had to provide a regal!

  • FYI..The U.S. Passport Card can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry and is more convenient and less expensive than a passport book. The passport card cannot be used for international travel by air. 8)

  • Ralphie - good idea, putting your driver's license on the other side of the photocopy of your passport.

I scanned my previous passport's photo page, printed it out wallet-sized, and laminated it as a 'passport card' to carry in my money clip (which I use for 'beer money' and as a throw-down wallet if I ever get robbed). Comes it handy if a hotel clerk asks for my passport number at check-in.

i put the drivers license on, just so they know where to send the body in the unfortunate event some young lady screwed me to death. lol

  • The photo looked similar to her, but I don't think it was her. I didn't bring my smartphone with me so I hadn't any pics. I will definitely do so for my return trip; I was worried about it being stolen but if I felt it would have been perfectly secure in the room safe at Rockies.
I always left the passport in the room safe, when I went out I just had my US license on me. I don't remember anyone asking for ID while I was there, I saw plenty of Politur but I didn't see them interacting with the tourists at all. I like the idea of a passport photocopy.
I'm planning a return trip sometime around March/Early April, 5-7 days.

technically, when in a foreign country you are to have your passport on your person at all times.  the third world countries, well, they just dont much care .  it only becomes an issue should u have a run in with the boys in blue, green, whatever other color they wear there.

the photocopy , while technically not legal will meet their scrutiny, typically

  • If i am correct that resort is located in the Playa Dorada complex where like 15 other hotels are and if so then all you do is walk across the street to Field of Dreams and rent a short time room for a few buck ($20 or so)  and you will have some beautiful woman right there.  Or if you want take a cab or motoconcho to Sosua about 10 mins away from there and go to the strip  (all drivers will now where to go)  you will then see thousands of girls at night time walking up and down the street of about 20 bars and clubs and you can take a girl back to Rockys for a short time.

Hope this helps,  If not please ask any questions you have.

I see you just purchased the Fast Pass so now you will also have a lot more access to the site and other areas as well so hope that helps you out as well

As your hotel is in Playa Dorado, you may find it difficult to travel at night to Sosua. However, very close to the entrance of your resort (2 minutes away) is Pure Disco in Iberostar Cosa Dorada Resort. After 11pm this place starts filling up w/ 90% Dominican beauties along with a great Casino attached to the place. As you may not have a car, I would talk with a local taxi and see what deal you could get. The ride to this disco should be no more then US$10 in a large taxi each way, just give him a time to get the return fare.
