The last time I was at BB's I paid the extra money for the jacuzzi suite.  It's not really worth the extra price even though it's huge.  It is nice to be able to just slip out of the bar and head upstairs.  It has lots of space of all of your clothes if your staying for a long time.  I never even used the jacuzzi.  I thought I'd use it with the chicas but never did.  I did however slip coming out of it once since there's no bars as you ascend down the two steps.  I wouldn't recommend that room for older guys with bad knees or those who get drunk.

i am on ur side 100% i hate that shit and it was deep as hell.  I had to get out by sitting on the edge and scooting myself over and those floors get a little wet and ur busting ur ass.  Not a good room and the whole top was open so if u did not shit the bathroom door ur room got hot as hell

i just emailed bb's with the fact that a railing would be very very helpful for us old farts.

it would help if others were to make mention to them as well.  that they avoid that room due to the fact it is so hard AND DANGEROUS to get in and out of the tub and a railing would be a big help

emailing them is how changes and upgrades come about at bb's.  they do listen, they do seem to care what we think

so far , of all the things i have emailed that would make a diff for them, (and us) they have acted on all of them in some manner, except for stepping up the menu and offering some premium steaks, seafood, etc...

my answer to that this time around was simply to go outside the gates for a change of pace.   found some very very good good at sole mio and down on the beach at the catamaran.

my 5 day stay ended with only a $120 + or - bar tab /food bill .  ( i dont drink)  the rest was spent outside of the gates, and that is bucks they wont see.  also, when we went out, there were typically 8 or more of us going out so that adds up quickly.

they will notice bigtime quick on the may party if you guys start heading out to eat.  half the hotel not eating in the restaurant will show up at the end of the day in the till

  • i emailed bb's on the railing thing and got an answer back within 40 mins.  not bad.  here is their response:

Thanks for the feedback.  We are constantly putting down new anti-skid strips on the stairs.  However your suggestion for a handrail is a good idea.  I will pass it along to John, the owner.

We always appreciate Pirate suggestions – the best way we can do better – is if you let us know what you need.

    Thanks again.

anybody that stays in D-3, please take note to the fact if there is a handrail on the steps into the jacuzzi there next time you are there

  • I had it reserved and then decided to let it go as I didn't think I'd get much use of the jacuzzi.

Ralphie has some shots of D-6 (unless they were on the memory card he lost).

  • Ya d3 is a huge room but that tub sucks big time getting in and out i was worried i was gonna fall several times.  Also they have a sky light in there that is always open so all ur ac goes out if u dont keep ur bathroom shut.

I never used the jacuzzi either and i was told it takes forever to fill up

  • So it sounds like the jacuzzi room isn't worth it then?  It just looks like a whole in the floor, no idea to tell how big it is. 3 person can mean a lot of things - somehow I imagine that any normal sized American would be 2 people by their math.

i just emailed bb's with the fact that a railing would be very very helpful for us old farts.

    From BBs latest newsletter:
    "Jacuzzi Suite (D-3) Headline News!!! . . .
Many of our regular Pirates love to reserve our Jacuzzi Ste. However, there has always balphieeen suggested that the elevated jacuzzi could use a handrail to help inebriated Pirates get back to their bed without killing themselves. So, yes..you guessed it . . . El Capitan called his "Hand Rail Guy" and now we have a handrail which will insure that the only place you fall . . . is out of bed . . . which seems to happen in all of the rooms for one reason or another ."

Well done Ralphie, looks like they took action as a result of your email.

i believe there are others that probably said something as well.

anytime we see something we would like to see for an improvement, we encourage others to tell them as well if they agree with it.  work together as a team and we get things done

now to get good wifi in every room, some cushions for the lounge chairs at the pool and a little more variety in the menu and life will be good at bb's.  lol

    No doubt.

I was under the impression they had wifi in all the rooms - is this not the case?

At least it appears as though management is listening to their customers. I note, according to the latest newsletter that the girls aren't allowed to use their mobile phones during their shift - I wonder if this too came about as a result of guests complaining.

some rooms are better than others and some rooms have a non existent signal

so the answer is no, not all rooms have wifi.   now, which ones that do?  cant answer that.  i know it sucked in d4 in january

    i think c said b4 was great

yeppirs.  how about if others chime in and say if they got good wifi in their room , if it was lousy or if they couldnt pull a signal and what room it was please

lets see if we can kind of map out what rooms work and which ones dont for those that a connection is important for work and the likes

  • there is none on the D side at all.

Erebus had C5 and was right next to a repeater he said his signal was excellent - so looks like the 5 and maybe 4's on the B and C level have good signal, we need 1,2 and 3 feedback....if 5 was excellent i'm sure the penthouse which is C6 possibly had a pretty good signal

  • I was in Jacuzzi Room D-3 in September 2014.  There is still no railing to get in/out of tub and/or down the stairs.  I have a herniated disk, so I am VERY paranoid about falling.  I love the room size, but won't do D-3 again due to this safety hazard.  The shower head needs to be fixed - it never stays in position.

  • I'm pretty sure that hand rail has been there a while but wish they would fix the shower head so it would stay still!  I loved the room but d6 is my goto room.  Only room that overlooks the jacuzzi.  Also in D3 I could never get it cold enough.  I always get D rooms because way better water pressure and more hot water.

  • I stayed in Jacuzzi room on a trip last year. I like the extra square footage of the room and the size of the jacuzzi. The only problem I had was, the fact the drain is so slow that when you take a shower in the morning you are standing in ankle deep water by the end of your shower. When it finally does drain there is a layer of soap scum you must clean before you fill it to enjoy with a chica.

I did not use it one time my entire stay.
