Brothel/hotels in Santo Domingo?

    • I have been to Puerto Plata a couple of times, having stayed for a week at Field of Dreams, and checking out Blackbeard's.  Unfortunately, the airfares to get to POP, or to Puerto Plata by way of Santiago+taxi are really pretty high, at least when starting from here in Florida.  Santo Domingo is at last $200 to $400 cheaper.

    I'd like to return to the DR for a 4-5 day trip, focused on the girls.  Does Santo Domingo offer ANY resort type places like FoD or BB?

    • Not aware of any venue like FOD or Blackbeards.  There is a town called Boca Chica which is a smaller less commercialized version of Sosua.  The other option is an all inclusive called Satisfaction Plus Adult Vacations (SPAV).  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

    • i noticed this post and thought i would look up pricing out of florida and was amazed at what i found.

    even though the above post is an old one, what is said, for whatever reason is still relevant.

    i looked up a flight in january ,  mia to pop, it was $717

    looked up the same dates out of a northern climate, connecting in mia to pop, it was $550. 

    how can the airline justify that?  it is almost like the florida convention and visitor center has control over residents flying out

    • My guess is that when you're the lone provider you can charge what you want.  Jetblue and United fly into POP out of the northeast so there's at least a modicum of competition.

    My guess is that when you're the lone provider you can charge what you want.  Jetblue and United fly into POP out of the northeast so there's at least a modicum of competition.
    ahhhh , no other carrier goes to pop out of miami?

    • That's correct. AA is the only carrier serving POP from South Florida whereas you can get Spirit or JetBlue (via San Juan) into Santiago.  Multiple carriers also fly into Santo Domingo and Punta Cana hence competition and lower fares.
