  • I started getting requests for money last week. So I deleted WhatsApp from my phone. Anyone else hearing this.

  • I saw it on another site.  US has advised no one travel internationally.  Airlines are cutting flights by 50+%.  BB will undoubtedly be mothballed for the duration. Hope it can withstand this financially and reopen when US returns to normal.

  • Never got any WU requests , but yea definitely hope BB's can survive this , we all know how fragile the DR's economy is with regard to closing the boarder down and stoping tourism. They'l definitely be awhile recovering from an economic standpoint, probably 2x's as long.

  • Most of the North Coast hotels are either closed or about to close based on media reports I have seen.  This will trickle through the entire economy.  There is a country-wide curfew in effect from 8pm to 6am as well.  It will be "low" season when things begin to normalize.  It won't be pretty.

While I have not had any requests for money myself (I maintain contact with a good number of non-compound chicas), I don't doubt they are coming.

  • Re ex-pats who live in DR I read somewhere that the DR Government has developed a system that allows people who are there legitimately to renew their permissions on line.  But if you just overstayed your 30 day initial permission to be there who knows.

  • Just saw some of the newer videos of Sosua (last couple of weeks).

    Absolute ghost town. Sad.

  • Same scene in Times Square. Chicago.  London. Many locations.  Sosua is not immune. No place is.

I know. I didn't mean it was unique to Sosua. It's just I've had a lot more fun in Sosua than Chicago or Times Square so, emotionally, it is a bit more of a shock to me to see that little beach town that way.
