  • Depends on when you are going.
But Cabarete could be a good choice.
as in Kite beach is there. They have wind surfing and kite surfing schools.
not to mention regular surfing. as well as diving..
and a great Beach. Here are a few Pics from Cabarete.
if you go there in say Jan - mar. Samana another 100 miles or so.
that is where all the hump back hales migrate to for the winter months.
Samana is basically in between Punta Cana and Cabarete..
Cabarete is only about 10 minutes from Sosua.
    If even that.
Good times and riches and Son of a Bitches, Ive seen more then I can recall.

  • Cabarete is fine for a family trip.. There are the beaches and you can also go to a site such as iguanamama.com and set up excursions for waterfalls, biking, ziplines, etc.. Puerto Plata does not have much - the tram and an amber museum... There is also the Playa Dorada AIs and a few touristy nightclubs if she mostly wants to sit by a pool and sip drinks all day.

If she knows you have been before she is bound to ask about what you did on previous trips.. You might be better off at an AI in Punta Cana  and visiting a few schools and talking about wanting to play golf a lot :)

  • Only bad thing is being so close to sosua and puerto plata is if u ever bump into a chica or something on one of ur trips that will not be good so i say punta cana is better.

Lets say a monger is taking a chica on one of those same excursions ur taking ur family on and its a girl u fucked then what no good so i would want to be way away from where i play -- that is my opinion.

  • I went to Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort with my girl. It's nice and close to BB's if you want to tell her you are going fishing or golfing. Playa Dorada is also an option. You can walk to FOD from there. You will not see any pros working at Lifestyle which is nice it will not give you away.

  • I stayed several times in AIs in Playa Dorada. They're a bargain now. I have taken chicas to two, and while it's tolerated, it's not the best. The other women fucking hate it.

Bring golf equipment, claim you're going golfing, and hop over to FOD.

You won't see any pros in PD.

  • Ha. The upside is all the men you see are jealous.

Another factor is that the resort will charge a rack rate for her, usually about $50-60.

  • That is now officially on my list of things to do next time I am in the area!  Grab two ultra hotties from D'latins then head straight down to the Playa Dorada night clubs and do a little dancing and grinding around the western touristas.

Assuming there are any Playa Dorada nightclubs left - last time I was there I looked at Coco Bongo but did not see any others.

  • Yeah, it's pretty dead down there. Great place for a bachelor party or group. I spent three weeks there in Feb '2012, and it was a bunch of German retired couples. That experience got me looking for other places. Great deal for about $45/night though.

During my stay at BBs, one of the guys staying there (didn't know him) decided to take 7 of the girls and do them all at once. No idea how it worked out for him. Next time I saw him was the next day and he was completely plastered and having some issues. His buddies took him aside to calm him down. But I digress and my point is:

    You should be taking 7 hotties to the all-inclusive. Not 2.  ;D ;D ;D

  • PD is dead because of Punta Cana. Several of the dozen or so resorts are closed. Last year I went into the casino one night, in February, and there was one other customer. People told me how in the '90s it was packed with people. So it leaves PD as the bargain Caribbean destination. The resorts are a little dated, but Punta Cana is $200+/night for a couple.

  • Sounds like they are letting it age off and die and using it as long as they don't have to put any real money into it.. When I walked through to take a look at it in late December I was nearly ran over by a golf cart being driven by a very aggressive salesman.. He was offering free shows, T-shirts, etc to come tour his hotel. It had all the feel of a time share sales session.

i dont think it is dieing off by design, it is just because of the state of the economy.  less families are traveling.

if u took away the monger trade from sosua, it would be a ghost town.

playa dorada has been going downhill for quite some time now.  as biz continues to slow they simply shut down another section of the resort.  the retail outlets follow

You do see it from time to time. I went with my girl from the states. At Lifestyles Resort you can see some but they are not dressed like they would in Sosua. They calm it down the resort will not put up with obvious putas. Blue Bay in Playa Dorada is Adults only I did see some with guys there but they rarely left room. In Boca Chica its very common to see it though.

Not planned originally I am sure but they can see the current direction as well as anybody and are not making any radical changes to try and stop it.. What else could the current plan be besides "ride it until the end and hope somebody buys it" ??

  • The thing that always came to mind for me was to convert the resorts to cater to the older crowd like, well, me. I read recently that there was a conference discussing just that a year or so ago, but nothing as come of it. Now, a 250 room Field of Dreams would be pretty cool. The AIs are fun when there is a party crowd there.
