CASA CAYENA - I made a reservation to stay there in March. Wilfried the old manager of New Garden is running the show. They also are guest freindly. I will give report when I come back. It is close to New Garden Hotel also.
myself, comus, jimjames and gustav and cypress (aka cowboy) stopped by to check out wilfrieds new digs.  was very impressed.   went and looked at the rooms and they were very clean and very nice as well. i was really surprised when i asked how much a room was and was told $56 which included breakfast.

on my list of places to stay in the su.   my last stay at the new garden in last year was less than satisfactory due to some security issues that were ignored

the casa cayena is just north of the new garden on down past bilkys towards the new beach.  great location, minutes from pc or the beach.  like 30 seconds from the new beach

eidt:  might add, chatted with wilfried and asked if he had working girls hanging and said what he wanted to do was to have about 20 gals that were approved , not ripoffs, etc... and would have some kind of ID stating they were allowed on the property.

i asked wifried if he was going to personally handle the interview process and try them out .  got a big grin and a "of course" from wilfried.  lol

definitely going for the monger crowd

I stayed at Casa Cayena last week - Feb 20-27. It's a great place to stay, IMO. IIRC, I paid $56/night (IFTC/other boards rate) for a nice king-bed room poolside, including breakfast. Ate a couple of times in their restaurant, too - excellent seafood, and a 'sopa de pescado' that rocks! - and hoisted a fair share of Presidentes at their bar.

It's not a big hotel; I think he said 28 rooms or so. But he lives on-site and he's totally involved with his guests. He's renovating and refurbishing the place room by room; I got one of the recently-renovated ones and I was utterly pleased. It's too small to be 'Monger Central' like the New Garden, but it's a two minute walk from NG if you want to hang out there. There were a couple of chicas hanging out in the bar, during the afternoons, and they seemed a little fresher than the NG girls ...

For those who don't know, it's on Calle Dr. Rosen, same as Terra Linda and New Garden, but it's on the last block before the beach (past Bon Ice Cream, and Belkis' massage-parlor). It's quieter down there; no through traffic on that road. It's about 100 meters from Playa Alicia, which is a nice quiet beach to get some sun and to get in a swim if the surf isn't up.

Casa Cayena will be my place when I visit the Su, from now on.

  • I had the best time at the Coco. Private beach, awesome bar, chica friendly, crazy fun people. And budget friendly.
